Canvas agent groundwork
SuperPlane 0.16.0 lays much of the groundwork for canvas agents, a built-in AI assistant that helps you build and debug canvases. This work is still experimental and is not yet available on self-hosted installations.
17 new components and triggers
- Grafana: Alert rule management, timeline annotations for deploys and incidents, and silence lifecycle controls for quieter on-call workflows.
- DigitalOcean: Gradient AI knowledge base lifecycle management plus evaluation runs for testing and iterating on AI agents.
Improvements
- CLI:
canvases initnow generates starter canvas YAML for new projects, and list-style commands default to compact summary JSON or YAML output. - Wait and Time Gate: Push-through actions now use the same custom-field pattern as approvals for a clearer configuration flow.
Bug fixes
- Fixed: Canvas nodes no longer jump during autosave while dragging.
- Fixed: Single-host tarball environment templates now document
ENABLE_PASSWORD_LOGIN. - Fixed: The building blocks sidebar can now be closed even when the rest of the panel is disabled.
- Fixed: CLI missing-component and missing-trigger descriptions now return actionable messages instead of raw 404s.
- Fixed:
root_eventnow supports payloads up to 64 KiB for larger trigger inputs. - Fixed: Agent tool-call animations are smoother in the chat UI.
